This article was written by a journalist by the name Nina Lethin Larsen.
At request from MTV we met in Kr. Bernikovs gade in Copenhagen, where we were
interviewed and they took pictures. The other articles were written by another
journalist that also was present that day; he got the photos from the BT
photographer.

| Georg Hagstrøm from Vallensbæk is
facing an experience of a lifetime. Saturday he flies
with his friend Brian Nielsen to USA to meet his
undisputed favorite band Pink Floyd in person. Before the eyes of two millions MTV-viewers in nine European countries, the 20-year old Dane this tuesday was selected to be the lucky winner of the music-channel competition to meet Pink Floyd, see a concert in San Francisco, fly with the band in their private jet to Seattle and watch yet another concert. I just can't comprehend. Not until it's all over and we're bach home again, I'll realize how lucky I've been. Says Georg Hagstrøm, who works at a wine-warehouse in Glostrup. Ever since he in 1979 heard The Wall, he has been an unconditioned Pink Floyd fan. He's got all the bands albums, and what he doesn't know about the band, is not worth knowing. He's been watching MTV on cable since early August, and when he heard about the competition, he immediately sent 28 answering letters. He's friend Brian sent 18, and already before the competition was over, they agreed to bring each other on this trip, if any of them should be as lucky as to win. But quite frankly none of us expected to be that lucky. So I was pretty baffled when I got the call telling me that I was the one that had won. And just as surprised when MTV called me at my job to make an interview. There I sat in the warehouse with noise and racket around me and tried to sound calm, answering the questions in english, well knowing that 2 million viewers where listening in" tells Georg. What was really in that interview, was hard to remember afterwards, but luckily the Danish MTV-host, Maiken Wexø had brought a videotape with the show, when she yesterday at B.T. handed over the price to Georg. Maiken Wexø has really taken to London, where she is working at the music channel that broadcasts rock music 24 hours a day. It was trough an add in B.T. she one year ago - in hard competition with girls from other Scandinavian countries- was selected as MTV hostess With the price goes 1,000 $ spending-money. And then Georg gets the opportunity to learn to fly. The Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour happens to have a certificate himself and is going to fly the bands private airplane to Seattle. He has promised that the lucky winner will get instructions in how to operate a jet like that. Thats not quite necessary. I'm already flying high. |
